To describe oneself in 300 words or less...is such a thing even possible?

If I were to try to define myself at this point in my life, I suppose that it would be through the things that I miss the most on the other side of the fence. Bonfires, good friends, acoustic guitars, the feel of the wind on my face (I live to ride), the warmth of the sun on my skin, holding hands, long evening walks. The list goes on and on and seems to grow with each passing day. There is nothing hopeless about being a romantic. : )

It's been suggested that I should give some sort of idea as to what it is that I am looking for in a pen-pal, but I don't think that would be at all helpful. It has been my experience that people have a way of  creating expectations for other people, and then resenting them for not living up to them. I have no desire to create a person in my own image, I would prefer to remain open-minded.

In answer to the often unasked but always loaning question: I am in prison for illegal. fire-arm possession ~ I have a relatively short sentence, and expect to be released no later than mid-2006. Enough said about that...so it goes.

Prison imposes far more than just the obvious physical limitations it places a sort of symbolic chain around our hearts and minds. The joy of human discovery, the satisfaction of encountering and sharing one's self with another person... that is what I miss the most. If you are of like mind, be adventurous - send me a letter. It would seem to me that .37¢ is a small price to pay for the opportunity to share in someone IS life.
